My Lord,
I have the honour to address Your Lordship
on the subject of certain appointments to the Executive
Council and Legislative Council of this Colony.
2.
Sir Shouson Chow was, in accordance with
Mr. Amery's despatch No.303 of the 11th September, 1926,
appointed to be an Unofficial Member of the Executive
Council for five years with effect from 9th July, 1926,
and I recommend that he be reappointed for a further term
of five years on the expiration of that period, namely
from the 9th of July, 1931.

As regards the Legislative Council the three
Chinese Members are:-

Dr. R. H. Kotewal1
second term of office expires
December 1st, 1931.

October 3rd, 1931.

I understand that Sir Shouson Chow owing to
the strain of the double duties does not desire reappoint-
